Asus M70VM, M50VM

Meet the new Asus M70 and M50 entertainment laptops. The new Asus laptops, based on Intel Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform, are now available for preorder on the net.
Equipped with the new Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 45nm processor at 2.53GHz, the listed M70VM-7U005G 17-inch notebook and M50VM-AS001G 15.4-incher feature the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS 512MB video cards and 4GB of DDR2 memory.
The Asus M70VM-7U005G is a solid laptop with 1TB of HDD, a Blu-Ray Combo optical drive, and a display resolution of 1920×1200. Its priced for $3,236.74.
The Asus M50VM-AS001G costs $1,840.50. It has a 320GB HDD, DVD burner, and a 1440×900 display.
The both Asus mobile systems include 802.11a/b/g/n wireless connections, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth, and 1.3-magapixel web cameras.
The Asus M70VM-7U005G and M50VM-AS001G will be in stock on July 12th and July 26th (for M50VM-AS001G).
Dell Studio Laptops

Dell introduced the new line of laptops: Studio 15 and Studio 17 notebooks. The Studio 15 and Studio 17 have 15.4-inch and 17-inch displays.
“These laptops combine sleek designs, striking visual color elements and personalization options with features such as standard built-in webcam, capacitive touch media control buttons, slot load drives, and optional mercury-free LED displays and built-in mobile broadband,” Dell says.
The both of laptops are based on Intel’s Centrino mobile technology including 965GM/PM chipsets and Core 2 Duo processors. The new laptops supports up to 4GB of system memory.
The Dell Studio 15 comes with up to 320GB of hard drive space (640GB for Dell Studio 17, using two 320GB hard drives) and a slot-load DVD burner or Blu-Ray Combo.
It is equipped with a slot-load DVD burner or Blu-Ray Combo, depending on customer’s choice. Laptop’s 17″ widescreen display with glossy coating features two resolution options: 1440×900, with optional LED backlight, and 1920×1200. The display is managed by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 integrated GPU or the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 256MB dedicated graphics.
The Studios laptops are available today on official Dell’s site starting at $799 (Studio 15) and $999 (Studio 17) and will be available at Best Buy and Staples stores late.
HP Pavilion dv5z

Meet the HP Pavilion dv5z. It’a a new HP’s entertainment laptop, featuring AMD’s Puma mobile processor, a 15.4-inch display, and a new fresh design.
The Pavilion dv5z is configurable with the AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core, Turion X2 Dual-Core Ultra, and Athlon mobile CPUs. The laptop comes with up to 4GB of RAM, the ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated or ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MB dedicated graphics, up to 320GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner with ugprade option to Blu-Ray ROM.
HP Pavilion dv5z has 802.11b/g and 802.11a/b/g/n wireless options, and a Bluetooth as option. There are also a 56K modem, Eternet LAN, HDMI and VGA outputs, four USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, and integrated Altec Lansing stereo speakers. As options, you can include built-in web camera and fingerprint reader.
The HP Pavilion dv5z weighs around 5.84 pounds with a 6-cell battery and runs Windows Vista.
The HP Pavilion dv5z is available today for starting price at $699.99.
Dell Dual 8800M GTX Upgrade Kit for XPS M1730
Dell has unveiled the Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX upgrade kit for existing XPS M1730 laptop buyers who have configured their notebooks with cheap GPUs, such as the 8700M GT.
The video card can be purchased from official Dell site, as a stand-alone part, or with an installation service for users that don’t want to install the GPU themselves. Dell has provided a service manual for advanced users.
The stand-alone 8800M GTX SLI (dual) kit, configured with 1GB of DDR3 memory and priced at $1,099.99. The stand-alone part with the installation service costs $1,218.99.
The Dell promise that Dual GeForce 8800M GTX boosts performance over the older Dual 8700M GT cards by up to 49%.

Kohjinsha SX Series

Meet the new Kohjinsha SX series. The Kohjinsha SX Series is a 2.8lb laptop which powered by an Atom processor, the 8.9-inch Vista system can convert to tablet with the rotation of the convertible touchscreen. Also available teleconference in either mode, the system features two cameras to capture those dazzling whites. The 1GB of RAM will need a boost, but the 60GB hard drive, internal DVD writer and expandable multicard reader do a lot to make up for it.

Toshiba Qosmio G55, X305, F55

Toshiba unveiled its addition to Qosmio lineup with the Qosmio G55, Qosmio X305 and Qosmio F55.
The laptop features an 18.4-inch widescreen display with 16:9 aspect ratio, and up to 500GB of hard drive storage.
The Toshiba Qosmio X305, a 17-inch gaming laptop, sports the new NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX GPU with up to 1GB of video memory, dual hard drives with a total of up to 400GB of storage space, as well as DDR3 RAM.
The Qosmio F55 is also designed for gamers and features a 15.4-inch display and the NVIDIA GeForce 9700 GTS graphics card. It’s Toshiba’s first laptop with a built-in GPS receiver.
The new Qosmio laptops include Harman Kardon bass reflex speakers with a built-in sub-woofer, and an eSATA port.
These Qosmio models will be available later this summer. No word on pricing.
Sony Ericsson MD400, MD400g HSPA Modems

Sony Ericsson announced its new HSPA mobile broadband USB modems. The MD400 and MD400g work with 7.2Mb/s download and up to 2.0Mb/s upload speeds.
The Sony Ericsson MD400 and MD400g are the first USB modems with combined M2 Memory Stick Micro and microSD card slot. The modems have a built-in antenna complemented with an additional swivel ‘Diversity’ antenna for better performance.
The MD400g model has an embedded GPS receiver and GPS utility which link directly into Google Maps.
The MD400 and MD400g USB modems will arrive in Q4 2008. No word about price.
HP’s new laptops

HP has unveiled a new kaptop line for private and business users. The new laptop series feature models based on the latest mobile platforms - Intel Centrino 2 “Montevina” and AMD “Puma”.
The soho laptop lineup includes the HP Pavilion dv4, dv5, and dv7 Entertainment Notebook PCs with the new liquid-metallic HP Imprint 2 surface design, as well as the Compaq Presario CQ45, CQ40 and CQ50 Series. Business customers are going to be offered with 10 new laptops.
The new HP’s laptops expected in July.
Lenovo ThinkPad X200, X200s

Lenovo unveiled its ThinkPad X200 12-inch ultraportable notebook series. The X200 series based on the upcoming Intel Centrino 2 vPro “Montevina” mobile platform. The Lenovo Thinkpad X200 will come in three versions: the X200, X200s and X200 Tablet. These are going to replace current X61, X61s, and X61 Tablet PC systems.
The line of the next-generation ThinkPad X Series feature Intel Core 2 Duo processors up to 2.4GHz, the new Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4700MHD, up to 5GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive storage, as well as 64GB solid state drive and 2GB Intel Turbo memory options. The notebook’s 12.1″ widescreen display uses CCFL backlighting, while select models will have LED backlight.
Lenovo’s X200(s/Tablet) systems have three USB ports. Lenovo has added a built-in 1.3MP web camera into the upcoming ThinkPad ultraportables, while the newly designed keyboard is the same size as in larger T series. In addition, the UltraBase docking station for the new notebooks includes a DisplayPort digital video/audio connector.
Along with Wi-Fi LAN connectivity and Bluetooth, the new X200 systems offer mobile broadband, GPS, WiMAX, and UWB support.
These Centrino 2 ultraportables also include a variety of advanced security and manageability features, such as TPM v1.2 chip and fingerprint options, BIOS disable of all ports, ThinkVantage Technologies, and Intel vPro.
AMD Puma platform for laptops

AMD announced its new mobile platform called “Puma”. Puma is a first since its acquisition of graphics maker ATI.
Here’s what the platform consists of:
* CPU: AMD Turion X2 Ultra
* GPU: ATI Radeon HD 3000 series
HD 3800 series (3850, 3870, and 3870 X2) is designed for gaming.
The first laptop GPU to support Microsoft DirectX 10.1.
Claims to be energy efficienct.
Support for full HD resolution.
* ATI Avivo HD Technology: claims to use less battery power than other HD processing technologies.
* ATI Hybrid CrossFireX: allows discrete and integrated graphics to run together for performance and power-saving benefits.
* ATI PowerXxpress: allows users to switch between power-saving iGPU mode and high performance dGPU mode on the fly (no reboot required).
* ATI SurroundView technology: native support for up to four monitors
* 802.11n draft N wireless by Atheros
* Security features: TPM 1.2, support for smart cards and fingerprint sensors, AMD Virtualization technology.
AMD also announced ATI XGP Technology, an external box that lends a system discrete graphics capability. It has a proprietary connector that’s too large for an HDMI port. No word yet on the price.
