Great news for Samsung lovers. This Korean company has announced their first ultrabook. The 13.3-inch Series 5 ultrabook is 14.9mm thin and weighs 1.4kg. It’s powered by Intel’s Core i5 ULV processor and comes with a 128GB SSD drive or a 500GB/16GB HDD/SSD hybrid, with up to 8GB of RAM and Intel HD integrated graphics onboard.

Samsung’s ultrabook features ExpressCache technology, enabling booting from hibernation in “7 seconds” and to wake up from sleep mode in just “2 seconds”.

The Series 5 ultrabook will be available in South Korea by the end of this month. It will be priced from $1,125 to $1,298. There’s no info on pricing and availability in other countries.

Also, Samsung has relased a similar 14-inch laptop. Sammy Hub reports that it’s an ultrabook, but it doesn’t match standard ultrabook specifications. As you know, ultrabooks have a screen diagonal of up to 13.3 inches. Measuring 20.9mm, it’s slightly thicker than maximal 20mm for ultrabooks and weighs 1.8kg, breaking 1.4kg ultrabook limit.

The 14″ Series 5 will be priced from $1,167 to $1,341.

The new ViewSonic ViewPad 7e offered on Amazon has the 7-inch screen size, Android 2.3 OS, ARM A8 1GHz CPU, 3MP and 0.3MP cameras and that famous $199 price tag.

The ViewSonic 7e model includes only 4GB of internal storage 8GB and lacks a GPS receiver, HDMI output, the multitouch screen on the 7e is at 800-by-600 pixels.

The product page on the manufacturer’s site still doesn’t exist and Amazon doesn’t say is if the 7e has access to Android Market. The retailer only says the slate offers Amazon App Store for Android, so a lack of Android Market access could be an explanation for the low price.

The ViewSonic ViewPad 7e, also listed as V7e, sports Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, a Micro SD card slot, and USB.

Below the screen, it has four physical Android buttons. The offered model has white front and back with black sides.

Full specifications of the Asus Eee PC Slider SL101 Android tablet with a physical slide-out keyboard have been published today. The Asus Eee Slider SL101 runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS on a 10.1-inch multi-tiouch IPS display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The keyboard is QWERTY with isle style keys, but with no trackpad.

Tegra’s dual-core CPU is clocked at 1.2GHz and is accompanied by 1GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal Flash memory storage. The included 25Wh Li-Polymer battery in the 0.68-inch thin 2.1-pound tablet provides up to 8 hours of run time.

The SL101 weighs 2.1 pounds. It equipped with Wi-Fi card, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, USB 2.0 and mini HDMI ports, Micro SD card reader, G-sensor. Its front camera has a 1.2-megapixel sensor, while the rear cam, actually located on the lid of the keyboard, is 5MP.

Toshiba has unveiled a new Android tablet, currently unnamed device is positioned in high-end tablet segment. The new tablet features a 10.1-inch 1,280×800 multitouch display, dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a front 2MP and back 5MP web camera, 3G mobile broadband, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and a full size HDMI and USB 2.0 port.

Toshiba’s next generation tablet will be available during the first half of 2011. There’s no word on pricing yet.

Well-equipped and ready to connect

The Toshiba tablet has multiple connectivity options and ports that make it easy to integrate the device into everyday digital life. The tablet features a full-size HDMI port to easily share photos and video on a TV, as well as a full-size USB 2.0 port for connecting external hard drives and cameras, and a mini USB port for tablet as USB mass storage. A SD Card slot provides options for additional storage and transferring files. The tablet will also be equipped with 802.11n WLAN.

An extended choice of marketplaces and sharing services available
The tablet will offer access to the Google AndroidTM Market. To complement the Android Market experience the device will also be pre-installed with Toshiba Places with its own app marketplace, making it easier for users to find apps optimised for the 10.1’’ (25.7cm) screen. Toshiba Places also offers an easy to use content sharing service that allows users to upload their own content to the cloud. Velocity Micro’s Cruz T301 is now available on Amazon. The Cruz T301, a new 7-inch Android OS tablet device, has a display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and resolution of 800×600 pixels. The Micro Cruze T301 use capacitive touch technology, 2.0 Android version, 802.11n Wi-Fi. An extended life, user-replaceable lithium-ion battery is included, offering up to 10+ hours of life on a single charge (24+ hours on standby).

The T301 comes with 512MB RAM memory. The new model includes Amazon’s Kindle e-book reader and have access to the Cruz apps market.

The Velocity Micro T301 Cruz comes with 4GB of internal storage, expandable via both USB and SD card slots. A 4 GB SD card is included with the device.

Samsung has officially unveiled its first tablet device, named Galaxy Tab.

Besides a 7-inch 16:10 1024X600 capacitive multi-touch display and Android 2.2 “Froyo” OS, the Galaxy Tab features a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A8-based Samsung S5PC110 processor, 16GB of Flash memory (up to 32GB), 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G connectivity, a 3.2MP web camera, an SDHC memory card reader, and a built-in accelerometer. It has its own e-reader app, but, depending on mobile operator. The default color is white, but will be also available in other colors.

The tablet weighs 370 grams (0.8 pounds). The battery life is more than 8 hours. The Galaxy Tab will be available in Europe in October, and will be sold through mobile operators.

M&A Technology has unveiled its new tablet PC, called Companion Touch. Companion Touch is an education-oriented laptop based on Intel’s Convertible Classmate.

Companion Touch equipped with an 8.9-inch touchscreen display, includes the Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a 60GB hard drive, 4-cell battery, and Windows XP Home OS.

Companion Touch weight 2.8-pound and features an embedded 1.3-megapixel web camera, 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN and Ethernet LAN, two USBs, a 2-in-1 media card reader, and VGA output.

The M&A Companion Touch is priced at $499.99.

Hewlett-Packard unveiled its new Tablet PC called Pavilion tx2z (TouchSmart tx2). Its a first company’s model with a multi-touch display.

The 12.1-inch Pavilion tx2z recognizes multitouch input using “capacitive multi-touch technology”. It enables the use of gestures such as pinch, rotate, arc, flick, press and drag, and single and double tap. The Pavilion tx2z supports digital pen input also.

The Pavilion tx2z is configurable with AMD’s Turion X2 or Turion X2 Ultra dual-core mobile processors, up to 8GB of DDR2 system memory, up to 400GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner. The display uses LED backlight and has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It is managed by the ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics.

The Pavilion tx2z also includes a built-in web camera, optional fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, wireless G or N card, optional Bluetooth, an Ethernet LAN port, 56K modem, three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, and 5-in-1 media card reader.

Price for HP Pavilion tx2z starts at 1,149.99.
