Sony Ericsson announced its new HSPA mobile broadband USB modems. The MD400 and MD400g work with 7.2Mb/s download and up to 2.0Mb/s upload speeds.

The Sony Ericsson MD400 and MD400g are the first USB modems with combined M2 Memory Stick Micro and microSD card slot. The modems have a built-in antenna complemented with an additional swivel ‘Diversity’ antenna for better performance.

The MD400g model has an embedded GPS receiver and GPS utility which link directly into Google Maps.

The MD400 and MD400g USB modems will arrive in Q4 2008. No word about price.

Laptop case makers Proporta have developed a case for the Asus Eee PC. Constructed of shatter proof and shock-absorbent polycarbonate plastic, the Eee Crystal Case has a secure closure catch and a 360-degree double hinge, which allows you to open the Eee at any angle.

Personally, I could use about another 15 degrees of tilt on my Macbook Pro—not for my own use, but for every time a friend checks their email and attempts to push the screen beyond its natural bounds. Ooh, I get shivers just thinking about it.

Lenovo announced its new ThinkPad and IdeaPad 90W slim AC/DC combo adapter. The new all-in-one AC/DC adapter designed to charge other electronic devices such as cell phones, PDAs, and audio devices.

“At about a half-inch thick and 33 percent smaller than Lenovo’s previous combo adapter, it’s roughly the size of a deck of playing cards – small enough to easily fit into a shirt pocket,” Lenovo says adding that the adapter is 25 percent lighter than the company’s previous model.

The ThinkPad and IdeaPad 90W slim AC/DC power adapter (41N8460) is priced at $119. It is available at Lenovo.com and through Lenovo business partners.

Connect-A-Desk has unveiled a new product, that giving users a chance to use their laptops while walking or standing.

“It’s great for inspectors, warehouse supervisors, inventory control specialists, bloggers, journalists, and anyone who wants the freedom to be mobile while using their computer,” the Connect-A-Desk’s press release says.
